For career advisers

When thinking about careers in logistics, supply chain and transport many may think that the sector is simply about “trucks and sheds”, which is understandable as that is the most visible image of the sector.  However, logistics, supply chain and transport management offer a variety of career pathways at all levels, from entry opportunities at age 16 or 18, to a wide range of graduate trainee roles, with progression opportunities across all sectors through senior management to board level prospects.  So, far from being a sector that offers limited career opportunities, the sector is characterised by career pathways that lead directly to senior management roles for those with right skills and drive for success.

Take a look at the career profiles included in this section of the website and you will see the range and breadth of job roles available. A number of general careers sites include case studies and video interviews with those working in the sector.  YouTube also features a variety of short films and presentations that give an insight to working in logistics, supply chain and transport, with material from the UK and overseas (www.youtube.com).  Use  the occupational areas listed in the profile section of the website as “key words” when searching the YouTube site.
