Midlands Connect will identify transport connectivity improvements to maximise long term economic growth in the Midlands and is underpinned by two main principles:

•    Investing in the ‘One Voice’ approach to ensure the Midlands reaches a unified position on strategic transport investment; and
•    An evidence led approach focused on clearly articulating the transport needs, opportunities and investment priorities for the region.

With £5 million allocated by the Department for Transport (DfT), Midlands Connect is now developing a transport strategy that can realise this potential through a programme of investment up to 2043 and beyond, truly powering the Midlands Engine.

At this event, Maria Machancoses, Programme Director for Midlands Connect, will talk to us about the Midlands Connect Strategy, which is expected to be published in March 2017.  Please join us for what promises to be a very interesting discussion of the strategic transport priorities for the Midlands.

What started as a long-weekend away in Brussels for eight people has expanded, over the years, and the group has now visited  destinations over four continents from San Francisco to Hong Kong

Glacially slow economic growth, austerity measures and reduced budgets require that companies supply chains are operating as efficiently as possible.

The purpose of this CILT event is to highlight the benefits to your business that benchmarking will provide. Benchmarking involves a review of your business processes aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of your performance in relation to similar organisations and with overall industry best practice.

The CILT LogMark Benchmarking Club is a business management tool that facilitates gap-analysis of logistics, transport and supply-chain operational activity using widely accepted KPI’s that cover inventory management, transport management, risk management, human resourcing, customer service, operations management and other business disciplines. LogMark provides its members with a comprehensive survey, guaranteed data security, a club-based benchmarking network, and independently audited results.
