This globally recognised course is focussed on the knowledge and skills required by those either involved in scheduling, or who need a good understanding of scheduling techniques. This is one of the core modules in the APICS CPIM programme but is also a valued subject in its own right.
It is strongly recommended that delegates complete the BSCM module prior to selecting this course.
DSP provides participants with a working knowledge of the tools and techniques for inventory planning, including planning techniques such as MRP, CRP, lean, TOC. Participants understand the effect of using each technique; know standard measurements for inventory, materials, capacity and supplier performance; and recognise when to escalate issues.
This course consists of 9 sessions covering a wide range of topics in detail. Topics include inventory policies and planning, using the material planning process, MRP mechanics, MRP outputs and managing projects, detailed capacity planning and management, supplier relationships and many more.
Delegates are required to pass an on-line, multiple-choice test is required to gain APICS recognition for this course.

Andy Watt, an engineer has been applying Critical Chain principles for twenty years in many industries including transport; trains, planes, automobiles and boats as well as many other industries. He worked closely with Dr Goldratt; the inventor of Critical Chain. He will share his vast knowledge and expertise; and discuss a plane case study realising dramatically improved results by implementing Theory of Constraints planning, controlled WIP and visual buffer management. In his “spare time” Andy also works as Director in manufacturing and instrumentation companies

This course focuses on stock control for bought-in items, finished goods and general stores stock control. It will demonstrate how to reduce inventory investment and how to assess and react to changing customer requirements to deliver the best customer service. In addition, it will show how to integrate the inventory effectively into the supply chain, maximising control without increasing the workload.
