This evidence review looked at 23 studies published before 2019 mainly from North America, UK and Europe to determine the availability, affordability, awareness and acceptability of ADAS to older people. It assesses the potential impact of ADAS on the mobility and mode choices of older people over the next 5 to 10 years.
For the purpose of this study:
- ADAS have been defined as assistive technologies designed to support people while driving, such as adaptive cruise control and automatic parking systems
- older people have been defined as those aged 55 years or older
