Member - MILT

This first grade of full CILT(UK) membership requires you to have certain qualifications and experience to attain. It offers full access to all membership benefits.

Status and recognition

Becoming a Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) means joining an internationally-recognised network of professionals. In order for membership to be recognised and meaningful, candidates have to fulfil certain criteria.

So, attaining Member status does require some form-filling and proof of qualifications and experience, but if it didn't, it wouldn't offer much kudos because anyone could be a member!

For election - or upgrading - to the grade of Member you should hold: the Institute's Certificate, or an exempting qualification, plus at least three years relevant experience; or the Professional Diploma, or exempting qualification, plus two years' relevant work experience, in the logistics or transport sectors.

You will need to provide evidence that you meet the above criteria, either in a CV, or through the application form.
Candidates without a relevant qualification, but with management responsibility over an extended period – at least five years – may submit a portfolio of evidence for consideration under the Accreditation of Prior Achievement (APA) process.
