Why join?

Join our exclusive group of Chartered Fellows who lead and influence the future of the profession. Chartered Fellows are highly respected and experienced professionals who have reached a senior level of responsibility working in industry and/or academia. Successful applicants may use the globally recognised FCILT post-nominals on CVs, signatures and other business stationery. Chartered Fellows are entitled to all the member benefits offered by the Institute to build their professional networks and are also invited to some additional exclusive ‘Fellow only’ events.

Who can apply? 

This is the highest grade of membership that we offer and is restricted to individuals who can demonstrate that they are operating at the top of the profession. You can apply for this grade directly or join at a lower grade and work your way up to Chartered Status.

Application criteria

You must meet the criteria for Chartered Membership and have at least seven years experience at a high level of management responsibility within the profession.  See Guidance Notes

How much does is cost?

Membership rates are kept to affordable levels by the CILT Board – please view our current fees. 

Note: UK bank account holders can qualify for 12 months membership for the price of 11 in your first year by setting up a direct debit instruction. 

How do I apply?

You can complete our online application form, make sure you have your CV and two-year CPD plan handy and this form will take minutes to complete!
