Müller Milk & Ingredients

On December 26th, 2015, Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller confirmed that it completed its acquisition of Dairy Crest’s dairy business

The company will bring Müller Wiseman Dairies and Dairy Crest’s dairy operations together to create a new organisation called Müller Milk & Ingredients, which aims to be the biggest and best of its kind in the UK.

Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller Chief Executive, Ronald Kers said:
“Thanks to this transaction we have the opportunity, together with our colleagues,  customers, farmers and suppliers, to build on our progress in the UK and create an exciting new future for our dairy business.”

Müller Milk & Ingredients can play a major role in invigorating and revitalising the UK’s fresh milk and dairy ingredients sector, and that’s our plan for the future.

To do this we will prioritise the delivery of  great products and service, building an engaged workforce, putting in place common systems and processes, and achieving higher levels of competitiveness through savings from combining the two businesses.

Dan Howell Commercial Director says: “Müller Milk & Ingredients has a clear vision – to be the best fresh milk and ingredients business in Britain, and we continue to make excellent inroads.

“Being the best is about creating value for all of our stakeholders. We want to build on our unrivalled reputation for outstanding quality and service by bringing true insight and innovation to the dairy category.

“Investment in our capability and developing a compelling vision for the category are critical to our future plans.  No business has invested more in fresh milk production and distribution than we have, and we are capable of delivering a bespoke offering locally, regionally and nationally.

“We remain one of the biggest buyers of milk in Scotland and aim to build a vibrant, progressive and sustainable fresh milk and ingredients business which is capable of adding value and innovating within the dairy category, including investing in Scotland to provide customers with Scottish milk produced in Scotland. “

“This commitment to investment will be an ongoing, continued focus and it allows us to give customers the efficient and reliable service we know they value. We deliver, with our own fleet and distribution network, to almost every British postcode, supplying direct to store without depending on third parties.

“We want to reinvigorate the milk category by developing a compelling category vision that will create value for all, now and in the future. By looking at consumer and shopper insight we will be able to tailor innovation to unlock category growth opportunities. We want to work with our customers to bring the milk fixture to life.  We want to help our customers to drive shopper loyalty and increased value by having the right range in the right stores, with the optimum fixture flow and signage to encourage trade up.

“Along with well-loved products like Black and White, freshnlo, Puriti and The One, and now FRijj, our fantastic relationship with customers, efficient and reliable service, long-term investment and commitment to innovation is what really makes us stand out, and ultimately allows us to add value to the fresh milk market. It’s our goal to continue to develop and grow this market, and thankfully we have the people, products and plans in place to lead.”
