DHL Express announces new year price increase

29 September 2016/Categories: Industry News

DHL Express will put its prices up by an average of 4.9 per cent in the UK from 2017.

The international parcel delivery service said extra revenue generated from its annual price increase would be invested back into its network to deliver significant value for customers.

Phil Couchman, CEO of DHL Express UK, believes that the new prices “reflect both the value embedded in our service and our uncompromising long-term commitment to service quality”.

Earlier this year, DHL announced that it would be investing more than €800 million in its global network, systems and staff throughout 2016.

Some of the more sizable investments include a €66 million gateway in Tokyo, the launch of new automated sorts at its hubs in Cincinnati, U.S., Singapore and Leipzig, Germany, and the introduction of more efficient A330-300 cargo aircraft in its European air fleet.

Mr Couchman said that DHL will continue to invest at this rate throughout 2017.
