UK Mail plans new deliveries to Croatia

26 June 2013/Categories: Industry News

UK Mail - Britain's leading independent delivery and logistics company - has partnered with Eurodis, as it looks to increase its presence in Croatia.

The country will become the 28th member of the European Union on July 1st and this will benefit supply chains because customs duty will be removed.

In order to ensure its parcels reach Croatia promptly, UK Mail will work closely with Overseas Express, which is a partner and shareholder of Eurodis. Customers will ultimately reap the rewards of a new daily supply line that is being introduced between Germany and Croatia.

Chief executive officer at UK Mail Guy Buswell said the firm has worked with Eurodis before and the two organisations have built up a solid relationship.

"International delivery is on the rise, we want to be able to offer our customers a streamlined delivery service," he commented.

Europe's freight transport sector has been blighted by the ongoing financial troubles in the eurozone.

However, a recent report by Fast Market Research suggested the outlook for the industry is not as bad as many first feared, especially in Poland, where rail freight activity is predicted to grow by 4.2 per cent in 2013.
