FORS: Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary
accreditation scheme that focuses on safety, operational efficiency and the
environment. FORS helps fleet operators to measure and monitor their
operational performance and to demonstrate best practice. It is open to all
fleet operators in the UK and abroad.
CILT and FORS
CILT is part of the FORS Community Partnership (FCP). The FCP operate
the scheme as a concession on behalf of Transport for London. Our role is to manage
and run the governance process, which includes stakeholders and operators
coming together on a regular basis to provide guidance on how the scheme should
evolve. We also maintain the FORS Standard, which sets out the requirements
that operators need to meet in order to gain accreditation. The FORS Standard
is updated every two years to reflect changes in the fleet industry.
FORS Professional Training
To help raise industry standards and support continuous improvement,
FORS has developed award-winning training for managers and drivers. FORS
training is a vital step in helping fleet operators to work with a greater
awareness of safety, efficiency and the environment, and provides the knowledge
and tools to help meet the accreditation requirements. CILT helps to deliver
many of these vital courses. To find out about the courses available

An Introduction to FORS
If you’d like to know more about the scheme there’s a webinar (delivered
by CILT) that can help. An Introduction to FORS webinar is designed to help you
understand the basics of the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) and to
demonstrate how the scheme works. It includes background information such as
who runs the scheme, how FORS is governed and what the benefits are to fleet
operators. To register for the webinar

"What is FORS?" Briefings
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation scheme that aims to improve operational fleet management throughout the UK and beyond.
This flagship fleet accreditation scheme has been successfully delivering safety, environmental and efficiency benefits to fleet operators since 2007, and in its first seven years it provided accreditation to over 2,500 truck, coach and van operators.
2015 saw the scheme officially launch on a national basis and become available to fleet operators right across the UK. FORS now has over 3600 members operating over 210,000 vehicles and the numbers keep growing. Come along to find out why so many are choosing to be part of FORS.
Who should attend:
FORS is voluntary and open to any company operating a fleet, including vans, lorries, mini-buses and coaches. Operators and their customers (Specifiers) are invited to find out more about the scheme and why so many councils, local authorities, educational providers and other organisations are opting to specify FORS in their contracts.
Light refreshments will be provided.
