The partnership between APICS and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT(UK)) provides increased availability of education, certification and membership programmes for professionals in operations and supply chain management throughout the United Kingdom.

The Association for Operations Management is a global leader and premier source of the body of knowledge in operations management. Since 1957, individuals and companies have relied on APICS for its training, internationally recognised certifications, comprehensive resources, and a worldwide network of accomplished industry professionals covering all aspects of operations management, including production, inventory, supply chain, materials management, purchasing and logistics.

The APICS mission statement cements their commitment to the continuous improvement of the industry: “APICS builds knowledge and skills in operations management professionals to enhance and validate abilities and accelerates careers. We help our members and their organisations successfully compete and build a stronger global economy.”

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT(UK))

The Institute of Operations Management (IOM) had been in existence since 1963, originally as two chapters of the then American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) – now known as APICS The Association for Operations Management – and then from 1975 as an independent organisation called the British Production and Inventory Control Society (BPICS). It changed its name to the Institute of Operations Management in 1996. In 2007, the IOM joined with CILT(UK). In 2009, the IOM joined forces with APICS as a Channel Partner to further the operations profession in the UK. IOM was merged wholly with CILT(UK) in 2016. CILT(UK) incorporated Operations Management into their now 9 sector offering and has taken on the APICS Channel Partner mantle.

The partnership brings a range of internationally recognised products to the UK, this includes the very popular:
