Plymouth Citybus Limited
Plymouth Citybus is the largest provider of public transport within Plymouth and its travel to work area, carrying over 18 million passengers a year.
Now part of the Go-Ahead Group, Plymouth Citybus was purchased from Plymouth City Council back in 2009.
Although gaining many benefits from being part of the Go-Ahead Group, Plymouth Citybus is locally managed in the heart of its operations, keeping the brand and identity of Plymouth Citybus.
Plymouth Citybus employs over 550 staff and is a very active member of the local community, supporting various local activities and being patrons of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In late 2014 Plymouth Citybus took over the South East Cornwall ex Western Greyhound operations, under the name of Go Cornwall Bus, expanding further into the Plymouth travel to work area. Whilst in September 2015, following the exit of First bus in Plymouth, Citybus increased its network to cover areas of the City that were left without a service.
In 2014 Plymouth Citybus gained Investors in People Gold standard. The first bus company in the South of England to do so. In 2016 It was named Large Business of the Year at The Herald Business Awards and highly commended at the National Transport Awards for Bus Operator of the Year.
