The CILT(UK) Railway Study Forum Annual Dinner has become a prestigious event in the CILT(UK) calendar with its cross section of speakers and relaxed atmosphere, it is the place to be to network with fellow transport professionals!

With the added bonus of a pre-dinner drinks reception again this year, we really are focussing on giving you the opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues and build bigger and better networks. Each year we attract professionals from a cross section of industries including passenger and freight rail, bus & coach, transport consulting, warehousing and logistics just to name a few as well as actively encouraging and welcoming the next generation of the professions to join us.

Alex Hynes:

This year will see a keynote speech from Alex Hynes, who has recently been appointed as Director General for rail services at the Department from Transport.

Alex will play a crucial role as the government drives forward with its plans to reform the railways, so they deliver better outcomes for passengers by uniting the oversight of track and train while leveraging private sector innovation and expertise under Great British Railways (GBR).

Alex has led Scotland’s Railway, overseeing Network Rail Scotland and ScotRail, since 2017. Prior to that role, following an extensive career in the industry, he served as Managing Director of Northern when it was in the private sector, delivering their best ever customer satisfaction scores and record levels of employee engagement.

Shamit Gaiger:

We will also hear from our current RSF President Shamit Gaiger, Managing Director West Coast Partnership Development, who will reflect on her year as President and some of the themes that have come out of the various speakers we have heard from over the last year.

Peeya Goodwin:

Peeya started her career planning trains for Edinburgh station, learning the ropes of Rail Industry. Through her career as project and now Programme Manager, she delivered technology and business transformation projects.

Making things easier and better for tomorrow, than today is what motivates her.

She is passionate about efficient delivery which is currently the theme of Rail Industry as a whole. She is also huge advocate of 'giving back' and achieves that through mentoring new industry entrants as well as being a STEM ambassador.

The dinner is always a sell-out therefore make sure to book early!
