Our approach to CPD
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is how professionals prove their commitment and growth within their chosen profession.
CPD is essential to support you in your current role as well as helping you with career progression.
Completing CPD training and activities demonstrates to any employer that you are interested in keeping your skills, knowledge and training up to date.
As a leading professional institute, CILT have made a strong commitment to CPD. All members, across the eight Professional Sectors, are expected to adopt the philosophy as part of their own career paths. Commitment to CPD will be seen as a key indicator when seeking to upgrade to higher levels of CILT or IOM membership
The calibre of professionals CILT attracts are likely to be individuals who already take part in events that are awarding CPD hours, though they may not be aware that these hours count towards their CPD. Most industry related courses, events and conferences that help to increase your skillset or awareness is considered as CPD.
CILT’S CPD log allows members to easily record and gain recognition for their CPD via MyCILT. To see which courses award CPD hours check for the “CPD HOURS” icon on the CILT event pages.
