Following on from a successful 2017 event for International Womens Day, Women in Logistics, in conjunction with University of Hull, would like to invite you to We are Women in Logistics 2.0! We will hear from:



Sarah Shaw


Sarah Shaw is a lecturer, researcher and programme director in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Hull University Business School, UK. Her research interests include green/sustainable logistics, closed- loop supply chains, performance measurement/reporting and agri-supply chains and food security. Her business experience includes positions held in a variety of senior supply chain management roles: operations, transport, reverse logistics and customer service management; she has also been instrumental in leading change on a number of transformational projects across the supply chain. She was recently highly commended in the ‘Leader of the Year’ by Women in Logistics, UK for her work within the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, aimed at encouraging young people to work in the logistics sector. She leads various multi-disciplinary research projects and has published in a variety of scientific journals.

Debi Hamilton

Debi Hamilton is a Senior Manager for Burberry, working for their internal manufacturing division. Her logistics career spans over 25 years in both manufacturing and distribution roles. She started her career in manufacturing logistics at Smith & Nephew Medical, then moved across to Reckitt Benckiser, holding various planning roles. Her move to Arco in 2001 led to Debi driving through multiple system implementations, delivering on key projects in demand, customer supply and S&OP, whilst managing a large vendor portfolio worldwide.
With a black belt in Lean, Debi has a specific interest in change management and innovation. Her current role at Burberry encompasses procurement, warehousing, planning and product development.

 

Georgia Williams

Georgia has been a Logistics Officer in the Royal Air Force for over 20 years, having joined up soon after graduating from the University of Hull with a BSc in Applied Physics. Throughout her career she has fulfilled numerous roles in support of deployed operations, both in the UK and overseas, including 3 tours to Afghanistan.  She has enjoyed all her roles, but her personal highlight was as Officer Commanding 85 Expeditionary Logistics Wing, a unit responsible for the RAF’s deployable logistics capabilities of transportation, fuel, catering, inventory management and aircraft crash recovery.  She is a graduate of the UK Defence Academy's Advanced Command and Staff Course with an MA in Defence Studies, and also the University of the West of England with an MSc in Leadership and Management and a prize for ‘outstanding creative contribution to management research’ for her research based on personal experiences of masculinity in the Armed Forces. Georgia is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute. 

Sam White 

Sam is a Senior Logistics Manager at Coca Cola European Partners (CCEP) and has led the GB Transport team for the last 12 months. Sam joined CCEP straight from University and has worked in roles across various teams including Distribution, Demand Planning, Network Planning and Customer Service. Throughout the last 18 years Sam has gained a strong operational knowledge and now enjoys developing others by sharing her own experiences. 

Her personal career highlight was the time she spent as a Customer Service Senior Manager where she embraced a Customer Experience culture within her team, this along with the execution of a large change project earned Sam a European Supply Chain Service Award in 2017. 

Sam is also heavily involved in the IGD’s Developing Supply Chain Talent programmes which includes Cross Industry Mentoring and the Horizons programme.
