CILT launch ‘Stronger Together’ in association with ITN Productions

CILT and ITN Productions have officially launched ‘Stronger Together’, a news and current-affairs style programme bringing to life the importance of collaboration between both individuals and businesses operating within the Logistics & Transport industry, at this year’s CILT Annual Conference.

Collaboration is more vital than ever and ‘Stronger Together’ explores the nine sectors that CILT supports including those operating on land, sea and in the air. Membership of CILT is at the heart of the industry and supports members through knowledge, know-how and networking. This programme also includes a special animation explaining why membership is a must for anyone working in logistics and transport.

‘Stronger Together’ also brings a report from Core Management Logistics showcasing how value added business is changing the shape of the logistics industry. With the nations shopping habits changing, so are expectations and this report looks into how they have had to introduce a more personalised service to become an industry leader and part of their client’s business.

The programme features an interview with Richard Atkinson FCILT, Head of Engagement, CILT, who talks about the need to encourage younger generations into the industry and the innovative ideas they can bring with them.

‘Stronger Together’ premiered on 14th June at the CILT Annual Conference and Dinner at the Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, and will form part of a wider digital campaign between CILT and ITN Productions.

Kevin Richardson FCILT, Chief Executive, CILT, said: “We are extremely pleased to once again join up with ITN Productions to produce this film highlighting the importance of collaboration within our profession. The opportunities in logistics and transport are vast, but the only way we can achieve our aims and attract bright new talent is by working together. All of our sectors need to work collectively in order to develop a profession fit for the future.”

Simon Shelley, Head of Industry News, ITN Productions, said: “ITN Productions has been delighted to partner with The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport to bring to life how the industry needs to collaborate to achieve better results for individuals and businesses within the industry. We have enjoyed exploring what CILT is doing for their members to push the sector forward. We hope that this programme will engage and inform viewers and shape the future of such an important profession.”

Annual Conference 2017

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport presents ‘Driving The Future’, a collaboration with ITN Productions

A news-style programme that discusses ideas, challenges perceptions and provides a professional voice to demonstrate how the work within and around the supply chain directly impacts people, society, the environment, business profitability and economic growth.

The ‘Driving the Future’ shows examples of best practice as well as the exciting and dynamic innovations taking place across the UK and beyond. Behind every great business model and idea, is a supply chain and logistical infrastructure making sure everything runs to time and provides the highest quality output or service.

Drawing upon ITN’s 60 year heritage and expertise in storytelling, we will look at the extraordinary breadth of the logistics and transport sector to demonstrate that ‘it’s not all about trucks’. We’ll look to understand the processes and challenges involved in the movement of goods and their associated supply chain.

‘Driving the Future,’ also provides a perspective on what the supply chain means for ‘UK plc’ and what CILT and its members do to support society and the economy.

The news-style piece combines key interviews and news-style reports with sponsored editorial profiles of some of the leading organisations who are working across the supply chain. We thank the many companies who contributed to the film including

  • GT Nexus - How does the supply chain affect brand loyalty? -
  • BT Supply Chain - Innovative logistics and supply chain solutions -
  • SSI Schaefer - Bespoke solutions for e-commerce and beyond
  • Sealed Air - Adding value through packaging
  • NOVUS - How do we train the next generation of logisticians
  • Keyfuels - Fuel management solutions –
  • Close Brothers Asset Finance - Using local knowledge to power expansion plans
  • Interview with Kevin Richardson, Chief Executive, CILT UK
  • The importance of logistics in the Armed Forces - a special report

The aim is to heighten awareness of ‘the invisible profession’ among policy makers, politicians, the private sector and the wider public – to show examples of size and scope of operations within CILT and its support of life-long learning.

Annual Conference 2016

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport presents ‘Tomorrow’s Supply Chain, Today’, a collaboration with ITN Productions

A news-style programme exploring innovations in the modern supply chain.

In a unique communications partnership, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and ITN Productions are producing a news and current affairs-style programme.

‘Tomorrow’s Supply Chain, Today’ looks at how the modern supply chain is reacting to new challenges and demands. These range from responding to the UK’s increasing consumption of coffee with fast delivery of machines, to accurately and rapidly supplying hospitals with blood stocks. The programme explores how convergences between different elements of the supply chain are improving services, and also examines the challenges posed by government devolution such as the fragmentation of urban supply chains across the UK. Recognising and managing skills shortages and encouraging younger people to enter the sector constitutes another key theme.

‘Tomorrow’s Supply Chain, Today’ is an in-depth, online programme providing a unique platform to stimulate debate. It champions collaboration, celebrates innovation and encourages the exchange of ideas in order to meaningfully communicate the vital work the sector does.

Presented by national newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, the news-style piece features key industry interviews and news-style reports, along with sponsored editorial profiles of some of the leading organisations in the sector.

A total of nine sponsored news-style reports feature in ‘Tomorrow’s Supply Chain, Today’, championing innovation and forward-thinking sustainable solutions including BITO Storage, Briggs Equipment, Hako Machines, Howard Tenens, Impact, JLL, Michael Page, and ToolsGroup UK.

The programme premiered at the CILT annual conference on June 16th
