CitySprint to recruit over 600 couriers across the UK ahead of peak season

02 November 2018/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain

CitySprint, the UK’s largest same day distribution company, has announced that it is looking to hire more than 600 additional couriers in preparation for the Christmas rush. These new roles are available across the UK including Central and Greater London, Scotland, the North East and the Midlands.

The months in the run-up to Christmas are the busiest time of the year for many people and businesses across the UK, but for the logistics sector this is heightened by the expectation of even quicker delivery times and much larger volumes. For CitySprint, the peak season starts around late October and runs all the way through to Christmas and into the new year, with 14th December being their busiest day last year.

The new recruits will join CitySprint’s fleet of more than 5,000 couriers across the UK, with the business hiring across a range of vehicles including van, motorbike, pushbike and cargo bike couriers. They will help to ease the increased pressure on the delivery network throughout peak season, providing support across a number of segments including financial, legal, public sector clients.

Paul Gisbourne, CEO of CitySprint, commented: “Our focus is always on providing our clients with the best possible service, and in turn helping them do the same for their customers. Getting the festive-season supply chain right is difficult and we understand how important this time of year is for everyone. We’re making sure we have the right team in place to provide a first-class service for clients and to support the sharp rise in delivery volumes during this period.”
