Your chance to help a NOVUS student tackle returnable assets challenge

21 May 2019/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Logistics & Supply Chain

Arla Foods, one of NOVUS’ supporting organisations, would like to hear from companies who use returnable assets and already operate a deposit system, to help one of its NOVUS student with this project.

Arla Foods are looking for a NOVUS student to join them this summer to look at the benefits of operating a deposit system on returnable assets. The company actively engages with CILT & the NOVUS project and regularly has students work for them for a number of weeks as summer placements during their University summer break. This gives the student paid work experience and develops their careers, while allowing the organisation the time to tackle some vital projects.

The dairy industry uses roll cages to distribute fresh milk directly to customers. Generally, the cages - once empty - are returned to the dairies, but inevitably, being very useful for many other things, some cages get lost from the dairy supply chain. The NOVUS student will help Arla Foods make a comparison against its current state of play.
