Goodwill Solutions wins Queen's Awards For Enterprise

21 April 2020/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Logistics & Supply Chain

Goodwill Solutions has announced that it has been honoured with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2020 – the UK’s highest accolade for business success.

Now in its 54th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for the next five years.

Goodwill Solutions has been recognised specifically for their excellence in Promoting Opportunity, which is awarded to companies with social mobility programmes that help people from disadvantaged backgrounds into successful working lives.

The winners are chosen by the Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister and were announced on the Queen’s 94th birthday, the 21st April 2020.

Graham Tomkins, Joint Founder and CEO, Goodwill Solutions, said: “Social change lies at the heart of our business model and is integral to the way we operate as a commercial logistics company. We are delighted to receive this Royal seal of approval.”

As a Community Interest Company, one of the company's driving principles is to help the local Northamptonshire community through the creation of various projects and schemes designed to improve social welfare. Goodwill Solutions is able to drive social change by using the commercial revenue generated from our best-in-class logistics and warehousing business, into funding numerous community welfare projects and schemes.

As well as successfully providing a gateway back to employment for hundreds of disadvantaged people undertaking their ‘back to work’ courses and National Lottery Building Business Opportunities programme, the organisation also host the Northamptonshire Police early crime intervention unit, working to prevent offending behaviour.

Graham Tomkins continued: “Since our inception The University of Northampton have calculated that we have contributed £15m of social impact to our local community and helped to change thousands of peoples’ lives for the better.”
