Funded and powered by the community, every £1.85 Open Kitchens raise will produce a meal for someone who desperately needs it.
For millions of vulnerable people supermarkets, takeaways and even food delivery services carry a significant risk of viral transmission and as food banks and national retailers struggle to meet an ever-growing demand, their access to nutritious meals becomes more and more uncertain.
Anything but total isolation for the vulnerable is a risk to their lives, yet unless their needs are met in full, they may be unable to stay shielded for such a length of time. Open Kitchens uses a live request and distribution model which allows trained and vetted 'Delivery Angels' to see and respond to those in need in real-time. In order to further reduce the risk of transmission, meals will be delivered frozen and in high volumes - increasing the likelihood of being able to self-isolate for 3+ months if required by fulfilling the need for tasty and nutritious meals! Just £1.85 is enough to provide a life-sustaining meal for someone in need. The more money donated, the more meals can be made. The money we receive will be split between the costs of re-opening the restaurant and the ingredients needed to make the meals.
