Consultation opens on A406 Bus Priority

20 February 2015/Categories: Industry News

Transport for London (TfL) has launched a public consultation to gauge opinion on proposals that could improve safety and congestion at the junction between the A406 North Circular Road with Brentfield Road and Drury Way.

It is hoped that a new southbound bus lane and the introduction of bus activated signals in Drury Way, as well as an additional left-turn slip road from the westbound A406 into Brentfield Road, would help cut travel times for bus passengers, and make the pedestrian crossings safer.

Lilli Matson, TfL's head of strategy and outcome planning, said: "This Bus Priority scheme would mean shorter journey times for passengers, helping improve the efficiency of our bus services and supporting London's growth. These works will also deliver benefits for other road users and pedestrians.”
The changes would have the biggest impact on the 206 bus, which serves the route between Wembley Park and Kilburn Park, via Brent Park, Harlesden and Brondesbury. The consultation will run until March 29th.
