The government has released a summary of the reasonable steps for port operators using the pre-lodgement model to control goods from the EU into Great Britain for frontier operators.

The pre-lodgement model to control goods from the EU into Great Britain will come into operation from 1 July 2021.

This paper sets out:

• how the pre-lodgement will work
• the steps that operators of a frontier location need to take to prepare for these changes
