Nottingham has 3rd-highest bus use

29 September 2014/Categories: Industry News

Nottingham has the third-highest level of bus use in the country, according to new figures.

Some 157 bus journeys per person per year take place in the city - three times more than the national figure of 51, the Nottingham Post reports.

Moreover, there was a significant increase in the number of bus journeys during 2013-14, with the figure rising by 100,000 to 48.8 million.

Nottingham City Transport's Anthony Carver-Smith has attributed the rise in popularity of the transport method to investment in new vehicles, which has led to the introduction of Wi-Fi and real-time tracking.

"We expect to keep attracting more customers and keep Nottingham as a very good city for public transport," he added.

And Alex Hornby, Trentbarton marketing and communications director, stated that the rise was also due to innovative marketing and a focus on delivering better services.
