The Department for Transport is seeking insight into levels of resilience and risk of disruption to service in the supply chain due to absence as we head into the autumn/winter months, particularly in cases where there may be further Covid-19 cases and other seasonal illness. The Department has asked CILT members to respond to the following questions on what you are doing to plan for and manage workforce absences over the winter months, factoring in resilience for key roles.
1. What do you believe the key risks will be for your organisation in relation to managing staff absences during the coming winter period?
2. How secure do you believe your business/operation is in relation to maintaining service levels should higher than normal staff absences be experienced this winter? Are particular roles or regions more vulnerable?
3. Could you provide information about any planning which has been undertaken by your organisation aimed at mitigating staff absences and maintaining services over the winter months? Please include details of any measures which would be used to manage absences within your organisation, including those measures which are already in place.
4. Is there any additional support or communications that your organisation would like from Government to help operators with managing staff absences during the winter?
Please respond by October 7th to FOLRnotification@dft.gov.uk.
