CILT announces strategic partnership with Driving for Better Business

24 November 2021/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain, Transport Planning

CILT is now an official Strategic Partner with Driving for Better Business.

Driving for Better Business is a government-backed National Highways programme to help employers in both the private and public sectors reduce work-related road risk, control the associated costs and improve compliance with current legislation and guidance.

It is free to access and contains useful online tools and resources to help you evaluate practices, strengthen culture, enhance performance and demonstrate leadership in the management of work-related road risk.

The programme’s mission is to improve the levels of compliance for all those who drive or ride for work by sharing good practice and demonstrating the significant business benefits of managing work-related road risk more effectively.

Kevin Richardson, CILT Chief Executive said: “As the membership organisation for professionals leading supply chains for the movement of goods and people, safety at work is key for all of our members, the businesses they work within and their external stakeholders.

“Reducing work related road risk for employees and those that they engage with is critical to our members and the profession.

“As the professional body encompassing the road transport sector, we fully support the work of DfBB in reducing work related road risk, decreasing operating costs and in improving compliance with legislation and guidance.

“The DfBB Vision of “creating a world where those who drive for work do so safely, efficiently and sustainably” is not only good practice but also a social responsibility, aligning with the Institute’s objectives of raising standards for the profession.

“The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK is delighted to be a strategic partner of Driving for Better Business.”
