MRG Chair encourages new members to join group

26 September 2023/Categories: CILT, Logistics & Supply Chain, Institute News

Paul Le Blond – MRG Chair

The Membership Representatives Group (MRG) has a specific remit to provide two-way communication between the Membership and the Board. It consists of 12 members and, as its Chair, I have a place on the Board. We try to be representative of the membership as a whole and we also seek to replace some members every couple of years to keep fresh.

We are now looking for new members for the MRG, ideally younger members in the earlier stages of their careers, to ensure that we represent the range and diversity of members. To be on the MRG, you have to be a MILT, CMILT or FCILT but we are also looking to invite some junior members (Students or Affiliates) who are looking to advance their career by demonstrating a wider range of activities and responsibilities.

The MRG meets four times a year, usually two online and two in person. In between meetings we correspond on current issues. Currently we are involved in a number of key projects with other stakeholders including the implementation of the Certified Membership Model, market research, the website and grading structure. We are then able to tell the Board what the membership wants. Details of the MRG’s activity can be found on our page on the website https://www.ciltuk.org.uk/About-Us/Institute-Structure/Governance/Membership-Representatives-Group-MRG

So, if you want to have a key role in influencing the CILT and also gain valuable experience with the wider CILT family, please contact Simon Bennett, the Chair of the Nominations Committee, at simon.bennett@ciltuk.org.uk Alternatively, you can let me know if you are interested via the MRG address mrg@ciltuk.org.uk
