Government launches Network North after HS2 cancelation

The Government has announced the launch of Network North, branding it a new approach for transport in this country after it was announced the HS2 extension would be scrapped.

According to the Govt, every region will receive investment in the modes of transport that matter to residents most.

Billions of pounds will be invested into these regions to reform transport across the country.  

North West: £19.8 billion

North East: £19.8 billion

Yorkshire & Humber: £19.8 billion

West Midlands: £9.6 billion

East Midlands: £9.6 billion

East of England: £6.5 billion

South East: £6.5 billion

South West: £6.5 billion

Wales: £1 billion

Scotland will receive funding to solve the pinch points on the A75 between Gretna and Stranraer, providing better links between the Cairnryan ferry terminals serving Northern Ireland and southwest Scotland.
