Growth mindset and networking themes highlight CILT's 2024 Corporate Member Day

29 May 2024/Categories: CILT, Press Releases, Industry News, Logistics & Supply Chain, Institute News

This year’s CILT Corporate Member Day took place at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire with the theme being 'Networking for Growth.'

Hosted in the museum’s Sky Suite, guests were registered and welcomed in by CILT staff before taking their seats as CILT Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management, Bethany Windsor opened the event.

Laura Drury from Laughology, a company who combine laughter with psychology to improve learning and development, then took to the podium as our first keynote speaker.

Laura underlined the importance of positive communication and relationship building, encouraging members to take their learnings back with them and share with their organisations.

After a short refreshment and networking break, it was time to get competitive with the Supply Chain Game. Guests were told to work with their team to complete the Supply Chain of a prawn sandwich from start to the shelf.

It was a competitive battle but A S Miles Consulting Limited managed to secure the win, just in time for lunch and an opportunity to tour the Motor Museum.

The tour featured a variety of automobiles as guests were able to view collections of unique, elegant and classy retro vehicles allowing them step through a little slice of history.

It was interesting comparing vehicles of the past to vehicles of the present and how technology has rapidly advanced over the years.

With full stomachs and the Motor Museum tours finished, it was time to hear from our second keynote speaker, Kerry Leigh, also from Laughology to discuss the topic of Growth Mindset.

Kerry has experience and knowledge in both standup comedy and psychology and underlined that teams with a growth mindset are more likely to embrace challenges, develop new ways of working and thinking and are also more persistent.

Her talk caught the attention of everyone in the room as Kerry brought her points to life with fun and humour as she encouraged guests to put what she had discussed into practice.

Kerry’s presentation was then followed by an update to members on what’s next for CILT UK Organisational Partners.

Corporate Member Day 2024 then came to a close finishing off with a fantastic opportunity for guests to network and discuss the how the day unfolded.
