HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has unveiled plans for the future of the Trader Support Service (TSS), a free support service for businesses moving goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
On 16 September 2024, HMRC confirmed that a competitive procurement exercise for the next phase of TSS will commence by early 2025. This process aims to ensure continued support for traders from 2026 onwards.
In light of the ongoing implementation of the Windsor Framework, the current TSS has been extended until the end of 2025. This extension will provide continuity of service during the transition period.
The TSS, launched in 2020, has been designed to help businesses adapt to the new trading environment.
It offers guidance, training and support to companies, assisting them in complying with Windsor Framework requirements whilst saving time and money.
Many businesses have already benefited from the service since its inception.
HMRC encourages businesses to take advantage of this free resource by signing up for the Trader Support Service.
Once registered, companies can access free online courses and training materials to help navigate the complexities of cross-border trade.
