TransPennine Express is offering its first-ever graduate scheme, with four jobs up for grabs across the rail company.
The train operator is looking for recent university graduates to work in areas like engineering, finance, customer service and project management. Each role comes with an apprenticeship qualification.
Lindsay Penney, Early Careers Manager for TPE, said: "We're thrilled to offer these graduate placements."
"This is more than just work experience - it's a chance to build a long-term career and gain proper qualifications."
While previous work experience would be a bonus, the company says it's not essential.
Instead, they want people who are keen to learn and good at dealing with customers. The main requirement is living close enough to get to work easily.
Robin Gisby, Chief Executive Operator at DFTO, believes the scheme will attract new talent to the railways.
“We want our railways to be the career destination of choice attracting the best and brightest talent from all backgrounds.
"Whether you're interested in engineering, finance or customer service, you'll learn valuable skills in an industry that's changing fast," he added.
Successful candidates will work on real projects alongside experienced staff. They'll learn about different parts of the business while helping to improve rail services.
Applications are open until Friday 21 February for jobs starting in 2025. Each position has its own entry requirements, combining hands-on work with formal training.
The scheme offers a mix of practical experience and classroom learning, with graduates working with experienced staff to develop both technical and management skills.
