CILT(UK) was delighted to exhibit once again at the UK's largest trade show, Multimodal, from 17-19 June. The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with members, partners and colleagues to discuss the Institute's continued commitment to professionalising the sector, developing a future-ready workforce across the industry and examining cross-sector policy in an increasingly budget-conscious environment.
On Wednesday 18 June, CILT(UK)'s Director of Service Delivery, Shaun Fardy, presented at the Multimodal Theatre, providing an update on how the professional body is collaborating with members, partners and the wider profession to embed common professional standards across the sector and strengthen the future capability of logistics, transport and supply chain operations.
Following his presentation, Shaun hosted a panel discussion alongside Barbara Begg, Head of Central Commercial Function at NHS England; Jennifer Swain, Director of Talent, Development and HR at Road to Logistics; and Neil Tomlinson, Logistics Development Manager for Customer Fulfilment and Delivery at B&Q. The panel explored upskilling and reskilling staff to meet evolving demands, leadership in a transformational age, and the role of diversity, equity and inclusion in creating dynamic and capable teams.
On CILT(UK)'s final day at Multimodal, the Institute's Public Policy Chair, Sue Terpilowski OBE, hosted a panel discussion with David Kennedy-Browne, Director of Corporate and Social Affairs at Maersk; Julian Worth, Chair of CILT(UK) Rail Freight Forum; and Morag Robertson, Chair of CILT(UK) Rural Policy Group and Consultant at Polaris. The discussion focused on CILT(UK)'s network of forums and policy groups addressing pressing issues facing all transport modes, including sustainability, skills and technology.
CILT(UK)'s participation at Multimodal 2025 highlighted the Institute's commitment to supporting professional development and career advancement across the logistics, transport and supply chain sector. The engaging discussions and connections made throughout the three days will continue to inform CILT(UK)'s mission to equip professionals with the skills, knowledge and qualifications needed to thrive in an evolving industry whilst addressing the sector's most pressing challenges.
