The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK (CILT UK) congratulates transport, logistics and supply chain professionals from across the sector who have been recognised in the King’s New Year Honours List for 2026.

The Institute is particularly proud to recognise one of its members, David Astill, Managing Director of Nottingham City Transport, who has been awarded an MBE for his lifelong commitment and services to public transport. 

CILT(UK) also extends its congratulations to Vernon Everitt, Transport Commissioner for Transport for Greater Manchester and recipient of last year’s PTRC Lifetime Achievement Award. Vernon has been awarded an OBE for services to transport.

Below is a selection of professionals from across the transport, logistics and infrastructure sectors who have been honoured for their outstanding contributions.

 

Strategic Transport Policy, Leadership and Planning

  • Nicholas Joyce CB – Director General, Corporate Delivery Group, Department for Transport. For services to Transport.
  • Joanna Elizabeth Clare Shanmugalingam CB – Lately Second Permanent Secretary, Department for Transport. For services to Transport and Innovation.
  • Vernon John Everitt OBE – Transport Commissioner, Greater Manchester Combined Authority. For services to Transport.
