TfL freezes cashless car parking prices

22 January 2014/Categories: Industry News

Underground car parking charges in London will be frozen for those using cashless payments.

Transport for London (TfL) has announced the plans, which will come into effect from February 10th. Motorists who do not use the service will see a 3.1 per cent increase in prices.

Cashless payments can be made over the phone, via text, or by mobile applications and websites. Customers must first of all register for the scheme, which has more than 35,000 users.

Graeme Craig, director of commercial development at TfL, urged people to sign up to the service and take advantage of the price freeze. He added: "We've been working hard to improve the technology available at our car parks to make them easier, quicker and more cost effective for our customers."

The increase in prices is only applicable for weekdays, with car parks in Chesham, Chalfront & Latimer, Harrow on the Hill, Morden and Eastcote seeing no change.
