Dubai International has reported its largest volume of passengers ever in August.
The airport reported traffic went up by 23.8 per cent last month, when compared to a year ago, with just under six million people passing through.
Chief executive officer of Dubai Airports Paul Griffiths said "five million passengers per month has become a standard at Dubai International".
It reports aircraft movements in August reached 31,198 - an upturn of 11.5 per cent from 27,986 12 months prior. In the first eight months of 2013, total movements equaled 242,571 compared to 226,064 in the same period last year - an improvement of 7.3 per cent.
At the same time, comparisons for cargo showed an increase of 8.1 per cent in volumes, reaching 1,588,716 tonnes - more than the 1,469,476 from the same period in 2012. Monthly amounts, however, were three per cent lower in August than figures for a year ago.
