ManpowerGroup has reported growth and demand for the transport sector as demand picks up for the fourth quarter.
As a result of the success, the sector has "cautiously optimistic hiring plans" as the outlook goes up by nine per cent.
Sector director of logistics for the company Simon Edwards said: "We are seeing a particularly strong demand in the coming quarter for all types of drivers but especially for Class 1 and Class 2 drivers."
Some companies, it reports, are looking to hire more staff as early as October. ManpowerGroup argues growth in the building sector and its related industries is putting more demand on lorry-loader transportation. Likewise, ports, couriers and retail are upping the need for drivers to transport home deliveries.
The transport and communications sector has a seasonally adjusted outlook of +9 per cent. Of all the sectors compared, this is the second highest - only behind finance and business which has a seasonally adjusted outlook of +14 per cent.
