Intermodal Europe 2013 will emphasises importance of ports

09 September 2013/Categories: Industry News

Intermodal Europe 2013 is set to focus on port industries with a number of conferences and discussions.

Taking place between October 8th and 10th in Hamburg, Germany, the event will feature speakers from the ports and terminal sector to discuss challenges and solutions.

The event will also come before the opening of London Gateway - the UK's deep-sea port and Europe's biggest logistics centre. Supply chain commercial manager for DP World London Gateway Peter Ward will lead a session on port issues for Intermodal transport on the first day.

Mr Ward said: "Intermodal Europe is a leading event in our industry and, in my experience, offers a good audience of the right sort of people, all in one place and at one time."

Many may also be looking to improve connections across Europe at the event. Andreas Bullwinkle of JadeWeserPort has expressed interest in making short-sea connections to various European countries, including the UK. This, he argues, would optimise supply chains.
