UK exports are at their highest since the recession, according to DHL.
Writing for International Trade, head of sales for DHL Express UK and Ireland Neil Kuschel stated 48 per cent of exporters experienced improved sales in the second quarter of the year.
Additionally, 51 per cent believe profitability will rise in the year and 60 per cent are expecting turnover to increase. DHL considers confidence to be quite high for UK exporters.
He said: "Recent DHL-IHS research has shown that businesses that export internationally are twice as likely to be successful than those that operate only within their domestic market".
Reporting on its index with the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), DHL thinks if there is business abroad, companies should look to exporting. This will offer resident export industries plenty of opportunities for growth to match demand.
The index comes after previous reports from Grant Thornton and Jones Lang LaSalle indicated a rise in confidence for the logistics and supply chains sector.
