UK Mail reports bumper delivery figures

10 July 2013/Categories: Industry News

Transport companies continue to profit from the online shopping boom, with UK Mail being the latest firm to announce a significant upturn in activity in the past few months.

The organisation confirmed that daily delivery volumes increased by 25 per cent between April and June 2013 when compared with the corresponding quarter in 2012.

Bosses said the business to consumer market was the driving force behind this improvement, as more and more people are purchasing goods via the web and having them shipped to their home.

The logistics company - which recently outlined plans to expand its services in Croatia - thinks parcel growth will start to level out in the coming months.

In a statement, the firm suggested the economic climate will remain challenging throughout the rest of 2013.

"However, as our industry continues to evolve, we continue to be confident that we can use our inherent strengths to adapt to the opportunities and gain further market share," UK Mail stated.
