Manchester Airport is the most popular major aviation hub in the UK, a survey of 1,600 British fliers has found.
Conducted by Skyscanner, the study discovered that the third busiest airport in the country has the best customer service, shops, bars and restaurants. Passengers also hailed the facility for its organisation and accessibility.
Airport bosses confirmed earlier this year that as of February 2013, the complex had recorded ten consecutive months of year-on-year passenger growth. Manchester Airport generally welcomes 19 million travellers annually.
London Gatwick Airport - which is the second busiest in the UK - was next in the list, while Newcastle and Birmingham airports also fared well in the poll.
Heathrow - which is the most used airport on the planet - also performed strongly, finishing in fifth position (out of 15).
At the other end of the scale, Aberdeen Airport was named the worst in the UK and Stansted, Luton and London City airports also featured in the bottom five.
