Turkish Airlines chooses Rolls-Royce engines

08 April 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News

Rolls-Royce has been selected by Turkish Airlines to supply Trent 700 engines (with long-term Total Care service support) to power four Airbus A330 freighter aircraft. The airline already operates 11 A330ceo passenger and five A330 freighter aircraft powered by the Trent 700.

Dominic Horwood, Rolls-Royce chief customer officer for civil large engines, said: 'This is further demonstration of the market’s continued demand for both the A330 and the Trent 700. We are proud that Turkish Airlines has continued to demonstrate its confidence in the Trent 700’s ability to deliver outstanding economic performance.'

The Trent 700 delivers the best fuel economy, emissions and noise performance. Over the last three years, the engine has won more than 60% of new orders for aircraft to which it can be specified; it also accounts for a similar percentage on future A330ceo deliveries.

In the A330 freighter market, the Trent 700 has been specified for 90% of the aircraft in service and on order. Furthermore, there are more than 1,500 in service or on firm order, making it the most prolific in-service Trent engine.
