If you missed it then please book into your diaries now the 2014 dates of June 1st to June 6th to be held in Malaysia. Whether you went or did not then this newsletter captures the highlights for you. We had over 130 delegates and were joined by 250 Sri Lanka CILT colleagues – in both cases many more delegates than any recent convention. We announced our new branding, launched our global initiative Women in Logistics and Transport, saw our Young Professionals create a first ever Symposium and many of us were able to experience the Colombo culture and Sri Lankan country and wildlife as well as a fascinating visit to the expanding Colombo port. It was wonderful to meet so many from our wide CILT family and that is the essence of the convention. Our thanks go to our Sri Lankan hosts who worked so hard to put on an amazing event. Rather than exchange emails we use the convention to speak face to face and explore ways of moving our organisation forward. Looking back on the last 12 months we can reflect how much of the challenging agenda set in Birmingham we have delivered. Our plans set in Colombo are even more ambitious and we will be stretched to deliver them but with the leadership of Dr Dorothy Chan in her first year of her Presidency we look to use those plans to drive growth in membership and education on a scale not seen before over the next 12 months. So read more about what happened and join us as we embark on the exciting 12 month journey ahead until we greet each other again in Malacca, 2014!
