Transformed West Anglia rail routes hailed by Mayor

02 June 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Rail

West Anglia's suburban rail routes from Liverpool Street to north-east London have been transformed since becoming part of the Transport for London (TfL) network.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson has hailed these changes, noting that they bring with them a wide range of benefits for passengers, including lower fares.

These comments came as part of a call for better integrated services throughout the capital, which was made by the Mayor yesterday (June 1st). He emphasised the fact that more action is needed to ensure the rail network can continue to support the economy of the region.

Further enhancements and expansions could include joined up real-time travel information and more convenient and transparent ticketing.

"With London's population growing at a phenomenal rate, it is the perfect time for these new routes to pass to TfL so that they can be brought up to the same high standard," Mr Johnson commented.
