BT Fleet to improve efficiency with media tablets

24 June 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain

BT Fleet is aiming to improve efficiency in its garages by providing all 600 of its technicians with a media tablet.

These will be used to ensure jobs are logged and processed online in real time.

More mechanics will also be taken on as part of an effort by the firm to overhaul its IT system throughout its network of 65 garages.

Managing director of BT Fleet Dave Bowen said that anyone working in the garages will now know where a vehicle is and what distribution stage it is at at any given time.

Customers will also benefit from a platform that will provide crucial information through bespoke reports.

"It will be real-time and customers will be able to look at the information in the way they want to look at it, not in the way we choose to give it to them," Mr Bowen remarked.
