TNT has added 20 Iveco Stralis Hi-Road four-by-two tractor units to its fleet, which will be supplied by the dealer Sherwood Truck & Van.
This comes in the wake of TNT carrying out an 80,000 km six-month evaluation of a demonstrator vehicle.
National engineering manager at TNT UK Steve Davis emphasised the fact that the vehicles offer excellent fuel economy.
Iveco's patented truck engine technology is key to this, as it uses a high-efficiency selective catalytic reduction system known as HI-SCR to achieve the latest emissions limits.
"Feedback on the demonstrator we trialled was very positive," Mr Davis commented, adding: "We heard only good reports on maintenance and reliability, while drivers also praised the cab."
Genuine Iveco Origin spare parts will be supplied to TNT through the national dealer network, as TNT maintains its fleet in-house.
