CDS Superstores, trading as The Range Home and Leisure, has taken a 256,640 sq ft warehouse facility at Dearne Mills, Barnsley.
Situated just off Junction 38 of the M1, the units form part of an estate, the remainder of which is currently occupied by Frozen Value, Logistics Manager reports.
Head of supply chain at CDS Alex Simpkin said the move comes as part of a wider ongoing expansion project on the part of his firm.
He explained that new supply chain initiatives being pursued by CDS mean that flexible, additional space is essential to facilitate a new northern home delivery operation.
"The key attraction of Dearne Mills was its close proximity to our existing northern distribution centre in Doncaster and of course the nearby motorway network," he commented.
