Ocado signs new lease on south-west London distribution centre

15 July 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain

Ocado has signed a lease on two units at Stockley Close, with plans in place to convert the site into its major distribution hub for south-west London, subject to planning permission.

The online grocery supermarket's deal lasts for 15 years and sees it take on more than 56,000 sq ft of ambient storage space from Segro.

Stockley Close has convenient links to junction four of the M4 and the M25, in addition to being nearby to Heathrow Airport.

Head of property and network development at Ocado Ian Starling explained that these links are very important to his firm's business model, making the new site at Stockley Close the perfect fit.

"It will act as a hub to distribute to our customers in south-west London and helps us remain at the forefront of the e-commerce revolution changing the way we shop and, ultimately, consume goods," he commented.
