A new warehouse operation has been opened by Abbey Logistics in Bromborough, Wirral, which will service the requirements of a manufacturing client on a long term deal.
Abbey had previously partnered solely with Henry Diaper & Co in Knowsley to offer warehousing facilities.
While this relationship will continue for customers in that geographical area, the new 70,000 sq ft warehouse will act as Abbey's first solo operation.
The 70,000 sq ft ambient space has the potential to be expanded to 140,000 sq ft, complementing the 500,000 sq ft held with the existing Henry Diaper deal.
Managing director at Abbey Steve Granite said the move represents the next logical step in the firm's development.
"We've recruited Tony Mohan to help identify new opportunities for warehousing business across the UK and also a number of people from the warehousing industry to help run it operationally," he remarked.
