Planning application for 800,000 sq ft logistics space submitted by Peel

27 July 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Supply Chain, Rail

An application for up to 800,000 sq ft of logistics space at Knowsley Industrial Park has been submitted to Knowsley Council by Peel Logistics.

The firm was advised by Indigo Planning and AEW Architects on its application - and if it goes through, the development will allow for the construction of several large format units for Peel.

These will be intended to satisfy demand for logistics services from major manufacturing and distribution businesses.

At the rear of the site, there is the potential for a rail link. The 14.88 hectare area has remained unoccupied since September 2012.

Associate director of Indigo Planning Nick Fillingham said that flexible planning permission would make it possible for Peel Logistics to attract multiple occupiers.

"The site has been vacant for some time and following Peel's intervention, it can now be taken forward and brought back into active use," he remarked.
