Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Nichiyu Forklift have joined together to acquire all outstanding shares of the UniCarriers Group.
Brands including TCM and Atlet forklifts comprise part of the overall UniCarriers Group and are therefore included in the deal.
When the deal is completed, 65 per cent of the UniCarriers Group will be owned by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, with Mitsubishi Nichiyu Forklift holding the remaining 35 per cent.
A merger in 2011 of Nissan Forklift, TCM and Atlet led to the creation of the UniCarriers Group, which is based in Tokyo and has branches throughout Europe, America and Asia.
UniCarriers has pursued global business expansion since its inception, and the corporation handles a wide range of freight transport-related products, ranging from forklift trucks to heavy-duty cargo handling machinery and components.
