Getting on board with Busmark benchmarking

05 August 2015/Categories: CILT, Industry News, Bus & Coach, Institute News

CILT’s Busmark benchmarking club is gaining significant momentum across the UK Bus and Coach Industry.

Launched in May, at the ALBUM Conference, companies are jumping on board Busmark, in advance of the inaugural benchmarking survey, which will commence in early September.

Adrian de Courcey FCILT, CEO of Coventry-based Travel de Courcey, said: ‘Busmark was in the research and development stage for over a year, but since its launch, we are seeing significant growth.
Busmark has been developed by bus and coach practitioners, specifically for the bus and coach industry, and is enjoying widespread support. Operators that have already joined Busmark range from 12 vehicle fleets to over 1,600 vehicle fleets. Collectively, these companies are operating an approximate fleet size of 6,532.’

Austin Birks FCILT, CILT Bus & Coach Forum Chair, said: ‘Busmark enables operators to identify and share best practices in a non-competitive club environment. They are confident that they run highly professional and efficient operations, covering a range of business disciplines, such as engineering, risk & safety and customer service and Busmark will help them to evidence these levels of corporate excellence.’

Through the sponsorship support of Marsh as Gold sponsor, and Lloyd Morgan Group, MiX Telematics and Omnibus as Silver sponsors, companies are able to join Busmark for just £250 + vat.

Chris Ruane, Business Development Officer, CILT, said: ‘We are delighted with the numbers, and quality, of companies committing to Busmark. In return, they will enjoy key management information, backed by the Institute’s access to UK, European and Global statistics. For a spend of less than £5 per week, a company’s return on investment will be rapid and significant.’
